Biography
I have been painting and drawing since I can remember. The art I make is simple: It is all about a personal experience of an everyday or an any day situation. It glorifies (and sometimes mocks) the simple and mundane details of life. My objective is to notice the spaces that are often looked over.
I often reference art history or pay homage to certain master artists that influence me, updating the theme to center around a modern lifestyle.
I am influenced by Caravaggio's light and shadow, Lucian Freud's portraiture and Frank Auerbach's impasto. Whether they intended to or not, the work these artists made captured life's growth and decay.
Currently, I am teaching art and design at a high school in Chino, California.
